Giving youth a voice

Liberal Democrats have a proud record of encouraging young people to get involved in politics and their local communities.

Contact Aaron Drabble at youngliberals@farehamlibdems.org.uk if you'd like to work with other young voters who feel as you do, or if there's an issue affecting young people in Fareham you'd like to tell us about.

It can be about a concern you have that Aaron can forward to the relevant people or it could be something about how to register to vote or to get involved in campaigning for the Liberal Democrats or the Young Liberals.

A mission to engage

Aaron Drabble is the Young Liberal Democrat rep for Stubbington and  Hill Head Liberal Democrats and helped his father Gerry Drabble in the 2022 local election campaign in Hill Head.

Aaron says: "I have lived most of my life in this wonderful area. I went to school at Crofton Hammond Infant and Juniors. In addition, I went to secondary school at Crofton School. I am looking forward to starting Portsmouth University in September, where I will study Law.

"I first got into politics, in 2012 - the US Presidential Election of that year, when Barack Obama was re-elected. Watching the results and the campaign resonated with me and it has been an interest of mine. I joined the Liberal Democrats in 2021, after having been a member of the Conservative Party for a few years. I left the Conservatives because they have betrayed every guiding principle of a political party.

"My mission and the Liberal Democrats' mission in this area, and across Fareham is to make young people feel that politics has not forgotten about them. I hope that young people reach out to me."
