Fareham Crofton
Jim Forrest
Jim Forrest represented Stubbington on Fareham Council for three terms between 2002 and 2022. He was leader of the Liberal Democrat group 2011-13, and later the group's spokesman on planning and development control.
He campaigned tirelessly to preserve Stubbington's distinctive identity, and helped to ensure that development at Daedalus focussed on providing skilled employment rather than warehousing.
Jim says: I retired from Fareham Council after 20 years of work for our village’s residents. But in changing times, I believe I should offer my services again to Stubbington and Hill Head, and seek your vote as county councillor.
Fareham will soon be absorbed into a huge new council. Decisions about our future could be made miles away by people with little knowledge of our needs.
I believe my experience and local knowledge will help to ensure that Crofton’s interests are defended as the shape of the new authority is decided.
And I will try to ensure that justified anger at Tory failure doesn’t drive our people into the hands of ignorant extremists.
