Fighting for Henry Cort

Liberal Democrats have vowed to keep fighting for Henry Cort after Conservative and Reform councillors voted against a move to delay its closure.

Lib Dem and Labour councillors called on the Council to seek a delay to the closure, giving more time to look again at the decision and listen to local residents.

Local Lib Dem campaigner Stuart Brown spoke at the meeting about the importance of children having a school in their own community and the positive impact this can have on their wellbeing.

The motion was defeated after Conservative and Reform councillors voted against it.

Liberal Democrats will continue to stand with local residents and fight to keep Henry Cort open.

Save Henry Cort Community College - Tell us what you think!

Hampshire County Council are closing Henry Cort Community College. Local residents have strongly objected to this, and we believe the decision needs proper scrutiny before going ahead.

This summer Lib Dem Councillors backed a motion at Fareham Council to call for a delay, so that residents concerns could be heard and all options explored. This was voted down by the Conservative and Reform Councillors, despite promising to fight for the school in the run up to the 2026 elections!

Liberal Democrats will continue to stand with local residents and fight to keep Henry Cort open. Join the campaign, let us know what you think, and sign the petition today!
