Thousands of households across Gosport have been told that ALL rear alleyway bin collections will be cancelled immediately.

When this idea was first suggested by officers in 2025, your local Liberal Democrat councillors immediately blocked it.

Now the Reform-backed Conservatives running Gosport have let this idea happen without any public consultation.

Cllr Julie Westerby, Liberal Democrat councillor in Leesland & Newtown says:

"Alleyway collections have always happened here. The excuse being given is of isolated health and safety issues. Whilst these should be addressed, it doesn't warrant a blanket ban, affecting thousands of households.

Blocking pavements creates a much more serious health and safety risk and many residents have no front garden to store bins in.

The Gosport Conservative and Reform councillors should back the Liberal Democrat councillors request and reverse this decision urgently."
